Support & services
Camilla advises families on all elements of school and university admissions. Often this involves guiding families through the whole process over many months, but sometimes students are moving at short notice. As part of her work to secure school and university places, she can structure preparation for assessments and interviews, advise on curriculum choice and introduce families to tutors, education psychologists or other experts as required.
Camilla also acts as a mentor, helping with enrichment, internships, organisation and study skills.
Camilla tailors the level of support to the needs of the family; she can provide anything from a one-hour consultation to a school or university placement lasting several years.
In the past ten years, Camilla's students have won offers from more than 150 outstanding schools and universities.
Academic & professional background
Educated at St Paul’s Girls’ School and Oxford University, Camilla started providing private tuition and education consultancy in 2006 to London-based families. She joined the prestigious Teach First scheme soon after and spent almost ten years teaching at two very successful London schools - an oversubscribed 'Outstanding' girls' school and then a top co-ed independent school. At both schools Camilla was involved in UCAS preparation, advising candidates and providing mock interviews. She was also part of the broader admissions team, interviewing 11+ and 16+ applicants and gaining valuable insight into what schools are looking for.
In 2015 Camilla left the classroom to become an education consultant. She spent more than three years as Director of Consulting at a major education company based between London, Dubai and Shanghai.
In 2019 she established herself independently, creating Crocus Education. Along the way, Camilla has met lots of interesting and inspiring people, developing useful industry connections.
Approach
Camilla combines experience and expertise with a human, student-centred approach. She is a creative problem-solver and an excellent listener. Camilla finds working with young people very rewarding and appreciates many of the pressures that students (and parents) are under today. She works with discretion and sensitivity, particularly when students are leaving their current school or university under difficult circumstances.
Camilla lives with her husband and three children in Oxford.
